Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Medical Imaging & Deep Learning to design, train, and validate deep learning models on clinical imaging data, translating advances into clinically impactful tools. You will publish work in leading venues and collaborate with clinicians, data scientists, and engineers to advance imaging analytics.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field completed or defended before start date.
• Experience in medical imaging analysis (MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, OCT, fundus).
• Strong proficiency in PyTorch and modern deep learning workflows.
• Solid programming skills in Python and scientific computing stack.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and evaluate deep learning models for medical image analysis (classification, segmentation, detection).
• Build reproducible experimental pipelines in PyTorch including data preprocessing, training, and validation.
• Curate and manage imaging datasets with data governance and privacy compliance.
• Design experiments, analyze results, and iterate on architectures and strategies.
• Write and publish first-author papers in peer-reviewed venues.
• Contribute to grant proposals, progress reports, and presentations.
• Collaborate with clinical partners to define problems and ensure clinical relevance.
