Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in the GI Medical Oncology department. The fellow will assist the Principal Investigator with clinical, translational, and basic research projects, designing experiments and developing methods to address research challenges.

Responsibilities include interfacing with the EMR and data repositories, planning training for staff, supervising lab work, and publishing results while preparing grant applications.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in medicine, science, engineering field or bioinformatics.
• Candidate must have recently completed their education (within three years).
• CV/resume and credential evaluation if degree obtained outside the U.S.
• Copy of diploma (with certified translation if not in English).
• One publication.
• Two letters of recommendation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Principal Investigator with clinical, translational, and basic research projects.
• Design, develop, or adapt equipment or methods for experiments and research.
• Interface with electronic medical record and databases containing tissue samples and tumor molecular data.
• Plan training and research activities, supervise laboratory personnel, maintain safety protocols.
• Compile and write project results for publication; prepare grant applications; assist in grant proposals.
