Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in GI Medical Oncology to support the Principal Investigator on clinical, translational, and basic science projects. You will design and initiate experiments, adapt equipment, and integrate research with electronic medical records and tumor data.

You will lead training and supervision of lab personnel, prepare results for publication, and assist with grant proposals.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree required; within 3 years of completion.
• Experience with clinical/translational cancer research preferred.
• Publications and grant-writing experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PI with clinical, translational, and basic research projects.
• Design, develop, or adapt equipment for experiments to obtain results.
• Interface with EMR and databases containing tissue samples and tumor molecular data.
• Plan training and research activities for lab personnel; supervise equipment use; enforce safety procedures.
• Publish results and independently prepare grant proposals; assist with grant submissions.
• Collaborate with experimental and computational team members.
• Present findings at internal meetings and external conferences.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulations.
