Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Biological Sciences (Song lab). The position is temporary–part‑time, located at Woodward Hall, 40 hrs/week, with renewal possible and pay rate varying. Applicants who earned a Ph.D.

within the last eight years are encouraged to apply. The fellow will conduct independent research under a faculty mentor, publish results, and provide graduate‑level instruction, with the goal of preparing for a full‑time

Qualifications

• Must have earned a Ph.D., Sc.D., or M.D. within the last eight years.
• Experience with pangenomics, structural variation, and synteny analysis preferred.
• Background in ecological genomics or plant adaptation desired.
• Experience mentoring students and publishing in quantitative genomics or evolutionary analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop research skills and conduct independent research under a faculty mentor.
• Publish results and provide research instruction to graduate students.
• Prepare manuscripts and presentations; engage in scholarly activities outside the laboratory.
