Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, DE invites applications for a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Iffland Lab to advance genetic forms of epilepsy. The successful candidate will conduct internally and externally funded research under the Department of Neurology, reporting to Dr.

Iffland. Requirements include a PhD in neuroscience or related biomedical field, experience with cell culture, molecular biology, rodent surgery, and a track record in epilepsy or rare neurodevelopmental disorders.

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience, cellular and molecular biology, or similar biomedical sciences required.
• Prior experience in epilepsy or rare neurodevelopmental disorders preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong scientific communication.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform a range of experiments under PI guidance.
• Conduct immunohistochemistry, Western assays and other molecular biology techniques.
• Perform rodent surgeries and in vivo electrophysiology.
• Culture cells from mouse and human sources and analyze data.
• Maintain thorough records and present data at conferences.
