Job summary

Nemours seeks a Post Doctoral Fellow to join the Iffland Lab in Wilmington, DE, conducting research on genetic forms of epilepsy within a neurology-focused team.

PhD in neuroscience or related biomedical sciences required; experience with cell culture, molecular biology, rodent surgery, and in vivo electrophysiology preferred. Strong writing and presentation skills are essential for publishing and grants.

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience or related biomedical sciences required or soon to be completed.
• Experience with epilepsy or rare neurodevelopmental disorders preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills; ability to publish and present.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of experiments independently under PI direction.
• Immunohistochemistry, Western blot, and other molecular biology techniques.
• Animal handling and survival surgeries on mice.
• Rodent in vivo electrophysiology.
• Cell culture on mouse and human cells; data analysis and statistics.
• Maintain organized records and report results.
• May work weekends or after-hours as needed.
• Strong writing, oral presentation and scientific reasoning skills.
