Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System in New York City seeks a post-doctoral researcher or scientist to study functional epigenetics and cancer evolution. You will design and execute experiments to characterize cell state dynamics, collaborating with wet and dry lab teams and the PI, Dr. Mzoughi.

You will work on reversing aberrant cell states in cancer and stay updated with advances in epigenetic plasticity, contributing to high-impact publications.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field (cancer biology, molecular biology, (epi)genetics, or related disciplines).
• At least one first-author publication in a reputable journal.
• Proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, cloning, and western blotting.
• Preferred experience in ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and/or working with organoids, mice, and genetic barcoding.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Culture normal and cancer organoid models.
• Conduct genetic barcoding and lineage tracing experiments.
• Perform drug screens.
• Maintain and report accurate records of data.
• You will have the opportunity to be trained in bulk and single-cell genomics techniques, such as ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, and CUT&Tag.
