Job summary

Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the BioMEMS Laboratory within the Institute for NanoBioTechnology (INBT). Qualifications

• Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, microbiology, molecular biology, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated research experience in in vitro diagnostics for human and/or animal infectious diseases.
• Experience with molecular diagnostic methods such as PCR, digital PCR, LAMP, RPA, CRISPR-based assays, or related technologies.
• Experience designing, fabricating, and testing microfluidic devices or platforms, including methods such as cleanroom microfabrication, laser cutting, thermoforming, or 3D printing.
• Experience with microscopy-based characterization and assay readout.
• Proficiency in data analysis and computational tools such as MATLAB, Python, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with a record of publishing and presenting research.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior researchers and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

We seek a highly motivated and independent researcher to lead scientific andtechnology-development efforts focused on microfluidic-based in vitro diagnostictechnologies for bloodstream infections as part of an NIH-funded project. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will be based on factors including, but not limited to,the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate - e.g., years inrank, training, field, discipline, other work experience, and other similarfactors; geographic location; internal equity; external market conditions; andother factors as reasonably determined by the University.

Qualifications

Salary Range

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries forthis position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief atthe time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end ofthe salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate mayvary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include thesuccessful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internalequity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonablydetermined by the University.
