Job summary

The Xiao Lab in the Department of Physiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to investigate the genetic and epigenetic basis of cardiometabolic diseases, including obesity and cardiovascular disease, using mouse models and comprehensive omics approaches.

The successful candidate will generate and analyze large-scale functional genomic, single-cell, and proteomic datasets, perform molecular experiments, contribute to manuscripts and grant

Qualifications

• PhD in a scientific field or MD.
• Experience with mouse models or mammalian cells preferred.
• Strong molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead research projects on genetics, epigenetics, and inter-organ crosstalk in cardiometabolic diseases.
• Conduct physiological studies with mouse models of obesity and disease.
• Perform molecular experiments on mouse and human tissues/cells; cloning, PCR, immunoblotting, etc.
• Generate and analyze large-scale omics datasets (functional genomics, single-cell, spatial omics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
• Prepare manuscripts, presentations, progress reports, and grant applications.
• Present findings at lab meetings and conferences; mentor trainees.
