Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks a highly experienced Research Technician to support multiple ongoing projects in immunology. You will lead scientific analyses, help with manuscript development, and collaborate with a diverse team of researchers.

The role involves supervising 2-3 technicians, ensuring data integrity, coordinating grant-writing, and liaising with US and international sites; onsite at 55 Fruit Street in Boston.

Qualifications

  • PhD in immunology, infection biology, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in an academic, research, or related setting
  • Experience in flow cytometry required
  • Experience in other immunological assays (e.g. ELISA, muliplex-bead based assays)
  • Strong track record of publications

Responsibilities

  • Lead scientific analysis, abstract submissions, and manuscript development for 1-2 projects at a time
  • Assist PI with managing the Charles lab research portfolio across 5-7 ongoing projects
  • Supervise research assistants/technicians, including training, daily oversight, and recruitment support
  • Ensure research integrity with data documentation and data management
  • Manage and participate in collaborative grant-writing projects
  • Serve as liaison between team members at US and international collaborative sites

Responsibilities
  • Research Contribute directly to ongoing research projects
  • Research Lead scientific analysis, abstract submissions, and manuscript development for 1-2 projects at a time
  • Research Program Management Assist PI with managing the Charles lab research portfolio by orchestrating competing priorities, deadlines, and workload in a group with 5-7 ongoing research projects
  • Supervise research assistants/technicians, including:
    • Deliver new employee training
    • Provide daily oversight and direction
    • Assist with recruiting new team members.
  • Ensure research integrity, including data documentation and data management by developing best practices, provide ongoing training, and monitoring for adherence
  • Manage and participate in collaborative grant-writing projects
  • Serve as a liaison between team members at various US and international collaborative research sites

The salary for this position starts at $79,199.00

Additional Job Details (if applicable)

WORKING CONDITIONS: Duties will be carried out in a typical lab environment. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Occasional travel to international research sites may be required. There is also the opportunity to travel to scientific meetings to present research.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The candidate will be responsible for providing daily supervision, guidance, and expertise for 2-3 Research Technician/Assistants or students.
