Salary: A minimum of $67,000 is budgeted for this position.

Posting Summary

Postdoctoral Research Associate- The Postdoctoral Research Associate will join a multidisciplinary research team focused on cognitive aging and health and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Reporting to the Principal Investigator on grant-funded projects, the individual will play a key role in supporting laboratory operations and advancing ongoing research initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Designing and executing observational cohort studies examining drug-drug interactions and dementia risk using large-scale EHR and administrative claims data.
  • Leading statistical analysis (methods may include IPTW-weighted Cox regression, active comparator new-user designs, self-controlled case series, propensity scoring).
  • Developing and extending an AI-based drug safety signal prioritization platform.
  • Supporting grant preparation and contributing to grant aims.
  • Collaborating with mentors in pharmacoepidemiology methods and adjacent clinical research domains.

The candidate must demonstrate a strong record of accomplishment in a relevant area of research, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications. Expertise in pharmacoepidemiology methods and specific dementia/drug safety and interactions is highly desirable. In addition to experimental work, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to mentoring and training staff and students, assist in experimental design and planning, and help introduce and develop new technical approaches within the group. The individual will collaborate with other research teams involved in NIH-funded projects, and participate in group meetings.

Qualifications
  • PhD degree in Health Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, Information Science, Health Sciences, or a related field
  • Prior experience with applied pharmacoepidemiology and healthcare analytics experience (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial, and EHR populations).
  • Proficiency in R, Python, and SQL.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Leadership role on funded grant(s).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EHR data suchasCRDW, Medicare FFS, NIH All of Us.
  • Patent development experience.
  • Industry experience in real-world evidence and pharmacoeconomic research, clinical program evaluation, and/or Medicaid outcomes research.
  • Publications related to cognitive safety, pharmacovigilance, and clinical risk prediction.
