Job summary

The University of Toledo in Electrical Engineering seeks a Post Doctoral Associate to advance research and development in AI and machine learning for new simulation and training architectures for autonomous systems.

The role leads design, implementation, testing, and validation of research methods, and coordinates activities with collaborators while mentoring graduate students and other researchers. Proficiency in Python/C++ and Unreal Engine is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Modeling and Simulation or closely related field.
• Research and software development experience in AI, ML, autonomous systems or related areas.
• Experience developing computational models and research software with modern tools and version control.
• Ability to lead interdisciplinary research, mentor personnel, and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication and dissemination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, testing, and validation of research methods and software.
• Coordinate activities with internal and external collaborators and mentors.
• Support high quality, reproducible project execution in simulations and training architectures.
• Bridge Python and C++ based AI models with simulation frameworks and partners.
