The Structural Genomics Consortium at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (SGC-UNC) and the Laboratory for Molecular Modeling at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in computational chemical genomics.
This position involves developing a comprehensive chemical genomics database of human protein kinases and their inhibitors, creating new schemes for automated detection of kinase-specific chemotypes, and understanding structure-activity relationships for kinase inhibitors. The goal is to prioritize compounds for experimental testing.
The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team including biologists, chemists, and data scientists, collaborating with SGC-UNC and international partners.
Minimum qualifications include extensive experience in computational tools for chemical and biological data mining, a PhD in Bioinformatics or Cheminformatics, and strong programming skills. Experience with large database development is a plus.
