A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Dana T. Graves at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Department of Periodontics.

The fellow will investigate how cellular senescence and inflammatory signaling intersect to influence aging-related periodontal disease using mouse models and validation in human tissue. Qualifications

• PhD required in a relevant field (biology, bioinformatics, or related).
• Experience with single-cell omics and spatial transcriptomics preferred.
• Strong computational and experimental skills in aging and inflammation are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigate mechanisms linking senescence and inflammation to tissue dysfunction in vivo.
• Lead or contribute to bioinformatic analyses of scRNA-seq and Xenium datasets.
• Develop and execute rigorous experimental approaches in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro.
• Perform QC, data integration, cell annotation, differential expression, pathway analyses.
• Integrate transcriptomic findings with imaging and histology.
• Use immunofluorescence and quantitative image analysis for tissue characterization.
• Develop reproducible workflows for experiments and analyses.
• Interpret findings for biological contexts and contribute to strategy.
• Prepare figures, present results, and collaborate with team.
• Draft first-author manuscripts and contribute to grant writing.
