Job summary

The Graves laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine seeks a postdoctoral fellow to investigate how cellular senescence and inflammation drive aging-related periodontal pathology using in vivo mouse models and human tissues.

The role combines computational and experimental work, including scRNA-seq, Xenium spatial transcriptomics, imaging, and quantitative analyses, with opportunities for independent projects, manuscript authorship, and grant development.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in biology, medicine, or related field.
• Strong background in cell biology, genomics, bioinformatics, or systems biology.
• Ability to work independently and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Investigate molecular and cellular mechanisms linking senescence and inflammation to tissue dysfunction in vivo.
• Lead or contribute to bioinformatic analyses of scRNA-seq and spatial datasets.
• Develop and execute experimental approaches using in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models.
• Perform quality control, data integration, cell annotation, differential expression, and pathway analyses.
• Interpret findings and contribute to manuscript preparation and grant development.
