Qualifications

• Ph.D. must be completed by the appointment start date.
• Experience in system-level modeling and analysis of infrastructure systems, particularly risk, resilience, vulnerability, or reliability.
• Experience with data-driven modeling and quantitative/computational research methods.
• Experience working with Global Climate Models (GCMs), downscaled GCM products, climate projections, or related climate datasets.
• Strong analytical, programming, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to conduct independent research while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
• Prior research experience involving rail or transportation infrastructure system resilience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research focused on infrastructure system resilience, risk assessment, and data-driven modeling.
• Develop and apply system-level models to evaluate performance, vulnerability, risk, and resilience under hazards.
• Work with large heterogeneous infrastructure and climate datasets; develop computational models.
• Support preparation of technical reports and peer-reviewed publications.
• Coordinate with research collaborators and project partners; mentor or support graduate and undergraduate researchers as appropriate.
