Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a PhD- or MD-qualified investigator to join the Rhode Island Hospital biomedical research program. Under the Principal Investigator, you will design and execute experiments, develop protocols, and apply bioinformatic, phylogenetic, and statistical methods to collect and analyze data.

You will interpret results, review literature, and contribute to manuscripts, presentations, and grants.

Qualifications

• Requires PhD or MD qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of professional research experience focusing on molecular diagnostics.
• Desirable completion of a national certification exam toward Rhode Island Clinical Laboratory License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments and analyses per established protocols.
• Develop new experimental protocols to meet research objectives.
• Design research protocols to achieve scientific objectives and enable data interpretation.
• Collect and analyze data using bioinformatic, phylogenetic and statistical methods and software.
• Interpret results with supervisors and researchers and review data against hypotheses.
