The Mangalmurti Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania: Perelman School of Medicine invites postdoctoral candidates to join a project assessing red blood cells as a novel liquid biopsy platform for cancer detection and monitoring. Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular biology, genomics, bioengineering, hematology, immunology or related field.
• Strong scientific track record and interest in translational cancer research and biomarker development.
• Experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques desirable (PCR, sequencing, flow cytometry).

Responsibilities

• Lead studies integrating tumor–RBC co-culture systems, preclinical models, and clinical specimens.
• Develop and optimize molecular assays for mutation detection and rtDNA analysis.
• Evaluate analytical performance and translational potential of RBC-based liquid biopsy approaches.
• Collaborate with academic and industry partners to advance diagnostic strategies.
