Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks outstanding Postdoctoral Appointees to support research projects developing advanced optical probes for sensing applications such as spectroscopy and atomic/ion clocks, within the AMO and quantum sensing department.

The postdoc will join a team working on microwave clocks, magnetometers, atom interferometers and optical clocks, onsite, with a PhD conferred within five years and the ability to obtain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Qualifications

• PhD within five years prior to employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.
• Experience in laser spectroscopy, laser optics, single photon counting, entangled photon sources, microscopy/imaging, diode laser systems, optical alignment, mechanical design, and computer control of experiments.

Responsibilities

• Support research projects developing advanced optical probes for sensing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on experiments, data collection and analysis.
