Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks outstanding Postdoctoral Appointees to advance research on optical probes for sensing, spectroscopy, and clocks. The AMO/quantum sensing team develops microwave clocks, entangled photon imaging, and fieldable quantum sensors.

Postdocs will contribute to cutting-edge experiments, require onsite work, and pursue impactful national-security relevant projects with access to world-class facilities.

Qualifications

PhD in AMO/physics/related fields within 5 years.
Ability to obtain and maintain DOE L-level security clearance.
Experience in laser spectroscopy, optics, single photon counting, entangled photon sources, microscopy/imaging, diode lasers & fiber optics, optical alignment, mechanical design, or computer control of experiments.

Responsibilities

Support research projects developing advanced optical probes for sensing applications.
Work onsite due to the nature of the work.
Collaborate with AMO/quantum sensing teams to advance clock and measurement technologies.
