Job summary

Marquette University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemistry in the Reiter Lab. This project-focused appointment will support the PI's research on protein and nucleic acid purification and characterization, and on analytical quantitation of oncoprotein-nucleic acid interactions in solution.

The successful candidate will carry out analytical biochemistry experiments, design procedures, and collaborate with graduate students; strong communication and lab skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate (or foreign equivalent) required.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Thorough knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
• Willing to work flexible hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research in Analytical Biochemistry, the improvement and optimization of protocols. Design and perform analytical experiments that examine protein-nucleic acid interactions.
• Conduct research at the bench with independence and with senior graduate students, work well with others, and assist undergraduate/graduate students as an active member of the lab. Provide research summaries and reports monthly, help to write manuscripts, and meet regularly with PI to complete lab project goals.
