Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, or related field.
• Cryo-EM experience preferred but not required; strong background in related fields considered.
• Experience with protein purification and biochemical characterization preferred.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and/or bacterial genetics preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• At least 1 peer-reviewed publication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary setting.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro reconstitution experiments for GBP1 targeting of pathogen surfaces, including protein purification and mutagenesis.
• Perform cryo-ET sample preparation and data collection on advanced microscopes.
• Conduct cryo-CLEM to correlate fluorescence with ultrastructural data.
• Analyze cryo-ET datasets to reveal GBP1 structural mechanisms.
• Carry out mammalian cell culture and bacterial infection assays for cellular models.
• Collaborate with lab members and external partners across disciplines.
• Present findings at meetings and assist in manuscript preparation.
