UC Irvine's Neutrino Group invites applications for a postdoctoral research position focused on hardware development, software development, and data analysis in the DUNE and NOvA experiments. The successful candidate will work with Professor Jianming Bian.

Responsibilities include building DUNE LAr purity-monitoring system, cold-electronics testing, and R&D for future detectors, with opportunities to contribute to AI/ML efforts and HPC inference. The candidate should hold a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in experimental particle physics.
• Experience with hardware and software/analysis.
• Ability to travel to Fermilab, CERN, and SURF.

Responsabilités

• Construct and assemble DUNE’s LAr purity-monitoring system.
• Perform DUNE cold-electronics testing and assembly.
• Contribute to R&D for future neutrino detectors.
• Participate in AI/ML efforts within the group (e.g., transformers, HPC inference).
• Analyze early DUNE data and the full NOvA data-set.
