The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, CA invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar on the CUORE/CUPID experiments. You will develop cryogenic calorimeters, associated electronics, and AI-based data analysis for next-generation neutrinoless double-beta decay research.

Candidates should have a PhD in Nuclear Physics, HEP, or a related field, strong programming skills, and experience with detectors or instrumentation; you will publish results and mentor students.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics, High Energy Physics, Astrophysics, Nuclear Engineering, or related discipline within the last two years.

Responsibilities

• Develop cryogenic calorimeters and associated electronics for next-generation neutrinoless double-beta decay searches.
• Develop AI algorithms to improve calorimeter performance and data analysis.
• Perform data analysis, support operations, and maintain electronics for CUORE/CUPID R&D experiments.
• Develop analysis software for neutrinoless double-beta decay measurements.
• Publish papers and present results at conferences and collaboration meetings.
• Mentor students in their research at Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley.
