Job summary

The University of Arizona's Yamoah Lab invites applications for a Part Time Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Translational Neurosciences (Phoenix). You will work on neural circuit mechanisms of behavior, including chronic pain, using immunohistochemistry, patch-clamp electrophysiology, and related techniques in mouse models.

Applicants should have a PhD in Neuroscience or related field, strong hands-on experience in electrophysiology and imaging, and excellent communication

Qualifications

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Physiology, or related biomedical field required.
  • Experience in electrophysiology, imaging, immunohistochemistry, neuroanatomy, or molecular biology is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform immunohistochemistry staining and patch-clamp recordings in mouse brain tissue.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary neuroscience research under the PI supervision.
  • Design and conduct complex research projects and develop protocols.
  • Formulate research methods, collect data, and perform analysis with independent judgment.
  • Foster collaborations within the department and across the university.
  • Present results at lab meetings and conferences; prepare manuscripts for publication.
  • Assist with grant writing and progress reporting.
  • Develop and implement experimental protocols based on results.
  • Supervise laboratory staff and contribute to daily lab operations.
