Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience, pharmacology, or a closely related biomedical discipline; postdoctoral research training.
• Demonstrated expertise in systems neuroscience, including in‑vivo and ex‑vivo electrophysiology, optogenetic and chemogenetic manipulation, in‑vivo imaging, and rodent behavioral methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead basic research on the neurobiology of pain, focusing on mPFC dynorphin circuits and their role in modulation of surgical and neuropathic pain states.
• Design and perform experiments using slice and in‑vivo electrophysiology, glutamate uncaging/laser‑scanning, optogenetics, chemogenetics, fiber photometry, and single‑cell calcium imaging.
• Prepare manuscripts for peer‑reviewed publication and present findings at national and international meetings.
• Mentor graduate students, postdocs, and research staff, and contribute to grant materials and reports.
