Job summary

The Colorado School of Mines invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Mechanical Engineering to advance multiscale muscle modeling and movement simulations. You will develop and validate musculoskeletal models across body scales, contributing to NSF-funded IMSI efforts and collaborating with NAU and UC Irvine labs.

Responsibilities include creating multiscale models, running simulations, validating against experimental data, and analyzing biomechanical datasets.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related biomechanics field by Aug 2026.
• Multiple years’ experience in muscle modeling and movement simulations.
• Demonstrated publication record in biomechanics.

Responsibilities

• Develop multiscale models of muscle.
• Generate multiscale simulations of muscle contraction.
• Validate models with experimental biomechanical data.
• Collect and analyze experimental biomechanical data related to muscle capacity and variation.
