Job summary

The Department SOP-CBMC at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a Post-Doctoral Scholar for the Bowers Lab to advance peptide-based inhibitors through mRNA display, chemical synthesis, and biophysical characterization.

The position is a 12-month, full-time temporary appointment in Chapel Hill, NC, with a start date around November 9, 2026, and a competitive salary range of $55,000–$63,480 plus full UNC benefits.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, or in related field of study.
• Experience in chemical synthesis and/or enzyme kinetics.

Responsibilities

• Work on mRNA display, chemical synthesis, and biophysical and biochemical characterization of new peptide-based inhibitors.
• Develop and apply experimental approaches for peptide inhibitor characterization.
