Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's Bikoff Lab in the Department of Developmental Neurobiology is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to study motor circuitry in mice, focusing on the synaptic and circuit organization of spinal interneurons that shape motor output.

The successful candidate will use mouse genetics, viral tracing, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, and imaging, with strong mentoring and opportunities to develop independent projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD or MD/PhD in neuroscience or a related discipline.
  • Strong experimental training and the ability to independently design and execute experiments and interpret data.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, highly collaborative environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate synaptic and circuit organization of genetically defined spinal interneurons essential for movement.
  • Apply mouse genetics, viral tracing, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, and imaging.
  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to project development and mentorship.
