Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to explore how mitochondrial biology and the BCL-2 family protein MCL-1 govern normal hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, and lineage commitment, and how these pathways become dysregulated in AML and other hematologic malignancies.

The Opferman Laboratory integrates molecular biology, mouse genetics, biochemistry, cancer biology, metabolism, epigenetics, genomics, and proteomics to address stem cell and cancer

Qualifications

Postdoctoral fellow with strong research skills in molecular and cellular biology.
Experience with hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, or leukemia is desirable.
Strong communication and collaborative abilities.

Responsibilities

Investigate how mitochondrial biology and MCL-1 govern hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, lineage commitment, and stress responses, and how these pathways are dysregulated in AML and other hematologic malignancies.
Apply multidisciplinary approaches including genomics, proteomics, imaging, and mouse genetics to address core questions in stem cell and cancer biology.
Contribute to grant writing, mentoring, and development programs for postdocs.
