Job summary

Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher in Materials Chemistry / Organic Synthesis to design and perform chemical syntheses and to develop new molecular materials for an externally funded project.

You will work both independently and collaboratively, analyze data, contribute to publications and reports, and mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers while advancing the goals of the research team.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or closely related field.
• Experience with organic or organometallic synthesis.
• Experience with spectroscopic and electrochemical characterization techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform organic and organometallic synthesis to develop new molecular materials.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and characterize samples using NMR, MS, UV-Vis, and electrochemistry.
• Analyze data, maintain records, and prepare research summaries.
• Contribute to manuscripts, presentations, and reports for NSF deliverables.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers and collaborate with project partners.
