Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a NIH R01 project studying how obesity-related metabolic stress alters liver-derived small extracellular vesicles and their RNA cargo, reprogramming macrophage inflammatory responses and worsening sepsis-related injury. Collaboration across Endocrinology and Critical Care Medicine with diverse models and human samples.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD/MD with strong publication record and expertise in immunology,

Qualifications

PhD/MD or equivalent required.
Strong peer‑reviewed publication record.
Expertise in immunology, inflammation, EV/exRNA, metabolism, or mouse disease models.
Experience with molecular and cellular biology, cell culture, flow cytometry, biochemistry, microscopy, and/or omics or computational analysis.

Responsibilities

Develop independent scientist skills: critical thinking, experimental design, long-term planning.
Design, execute and record experiments; analyze data to inform decisions.
Maintain protocol quality and reproducibility; troubleshoot equipment.
Discuss insights with Faculty; provide analysis and recommendations.
Present research at meetings and seminars; engage in critical discussion of data.
Draft and edit scientific manuscripts, abstracts, and grants.
Mentor staff and manage some fiscal responsibilities; grow responsibilities.
Maintain currency in the field through literature and seminars.
