Helmholtz Zentrum München invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/x) to develop the next generation of hand-held multispectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT) systems for clinical imaging. The project aims to merge optoacoustic and ultrasound modalities with superior image quality and quantitative performance.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team spanning optics, acoustics, electronics, computation, engineering, physics, and medicine, contributing to translational biomedical

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field as listed; strong academic record.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience in one or more of electronics, optical systems, ultrasound, sensors, or CAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop next-generation hand-held hybrid optoacoustic and ultrasound imaging systems.
• Advance clinical imaging solutions for cancer diagnosis and therapy monitoring.
• Contribute to optical, acoustic, electronic, and computational technologies for imaging.
• Collaborate with clinical partners and a MedTech start-up for translation.
• Publish in leading journals and present at international conferences.
