Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to pioneer high-throughput, image-based profiling across diverse model systems. You will develop novel assays and computational methods, contribute to large-scale screens, and collaborate with both experimental and computational teams in a cross-disciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field with hands-on experimental expertise.
• First-author paper published or accepted in a leading peer‑reviewed journal.
• Strong microscopy and quantitative imaging experience, with multiplexed/high-content screening is a plus.
• Computational expertise in image analysis and machine learning; fluent in Python or similar.
• Independent scientist with excellent communication and teamwork.
• Excited about building methods to screen compounds at scale and understand cellular function.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize high-plex imaging assays capturing rich readouts of cell state and morphology.
• Develop computational approaches to extract more information from each sample and improve imaging-based measurements.
• Design and execute large-scale compound screens across diverse model systems.
• Apply single-cell and multi-omics style analyses to map perturbation relationships.
• Leverage automation and high-throughput workflows to run screens at scale.
• Collaborate across experimental and computational teams and contribute to publications.
• Participate in Genentech’s Postdoctoral Program and professional development.
