Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuroscience to investigate neural mechanisms of social cognition. The project focuses on synaptic plasticity and circuits underlying social memory and autism-associated deficits, using optogenetics, miniscope imaging, patch-clamp and single-cell transcriptomics.

Qualifications

• Experience with molecular techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing and electrophysiology.
• Proficiency in optogenetics or in vivo imaging and behavioral neuroscience.
• Ability to analyze neural data with computational approaches and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and design experiments under PI guidance.
• Perform experiments independently and publish results.
• Conduct social behavioral assays, stereotaxic surgeries and miniscope recordings.
