Job summary

The University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Medicine, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The role focuses on translational research in pulmonary fibrosis using animal and primary cell culture models, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics.

The fellow will work toward a strong publication record and pursue internal and extramural funding opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant biomedical field or equivalent.
• Strong publication record is prioritized; prior experience with primary fibroblasts, 3D organoids or RNA biology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Working with primary cell culture systems, 3D culture systems, small animal models of organ fibrosis, flow cytometry, immunofluorescent imaging, RT-qPCR, western blotting, gene silencing and overexpression; strong skills in troubleshooting experiments, data analysis, and interpretation are required.
• Basic knowledge of working and analyzing large data sets, such as bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, is highly desired.
