Job summary

University of Massachusetts Boston is offering a Post Doctoral Research Fellow position focused on IDD employment research within the ARRT program. The 12-month, 0.75 FTE hybrid fellowship includes mentorship from experienced ICI researchers, instruction in IDD methods, and opportunities to engage with community organizations and grant-writing activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent terminal degree) in a relevant field and must have completed the degree by the time of appointment.
• U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents eligible to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in disability research, especially IDD employment.
• Commitment to advancing welfare, employment, and social inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
• Strong written communication and analytical skills across audiences and formats.

Responsibilities

• Participate in orientation and training events at the university campus in Boston.
• Work with a research mentor and supervisory team throughout the fellowship.
• Develop an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to guide progress and milestones.
• Attend weekly mentor meetings and quarterly supervisory meetings to review progress.
• Engage in formal instruction on IDD employment research topics and methods.
• Contribute to collaborative Research Practicum projects.
• Design and conduct an independent research project with a $2,500 stipend.
• Present research proposals and results to the ARRT Advisory Board.
• Engage with community organizations serving individuals with IDD.
• Participate in grant writing with mentorship and workshops.
• Collaborate to develop and submit a grant proposal with guidance.
• Lead a peer-reviewed manuscript and contribute to another manuscript.
• Present research at a national conference with a $1,500 travel stipend.
• Receive guidance on accessible research outputs and presentations.
