The position focuses on crystalline interfaces, dislocation theory, and ductile fracture of metals, using MD and dislocation dynamics with machine learning elements.

The role includes leading and mentoring within the PI’s group and coordinating with external partners.

Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field required.
• Knowledge of the mechanical behavior of materials and materials modeling methods required (e.g., MD, DDD, mesoscale methods, FEM).
• Experience with high-performance computing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute research tasks: algorithm/code development, theoretical analysis, simulations on HPC, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and presenting results at conferences.
• Provide leadership and mentorship within the research group and assist students and colleagues.
• Support research ideation and proposal development in collaboration with the PI.
