$63,968 minimum; maximum salary commensurate with experience
The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. We also take into consideration market benchmarks, if and when appropriate, and internal equity to ensure fair compensation relative to the university’s broader compensation structure. We are committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation packages to attract and retain top talent.
The Center for Materials Theory ( CMT ) at Rutgers University is seeking outstanding postdoctoral associates to join our team of researchers. Applications are invited for several Postdoctoral Associate positions in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, starting dates are flexible but tentatively in the Fall of 2027. This includes one Abraham’s Postdoctoral fellowship and several grant funded positions in the areas of strongly correlated electronic systems (Haule) and non equilibrium quantum dynamics (Pixley).
The group consists of Professors Natan Andrei, Premi Chandra, Piers Coleman, Kristjan Haule, Gabi Kotliar, Jed Pixley, Karin Rabe, Ananda Roy, David Vanderbilt, and Emil Yuzbashyan. Their interests span a broad range of areas in condensed matter theory that include but is not limited to strongly correlated electron systems, high-temperature superconductivity, topological electronic states of matter, developments and applications of computational methods at the density-functional and dynamical mean-field-theory levels, metal-insulator and structural phase transitions, quantum critical points, nonlinear and anomalous responses, ultracold atoms, non-perturbative field-theory, integrable models, mesoscopic physics, non-equilibrium quantum and classical dynamics, time evolution of exactly solvable models, quantum computation and information theory, and dynamics of quantum information.
The applicant’s cover letter should mention the names of faculty members whose interests are most closely aligned with those of the candidate. Note that the Resume/CV must include a publication list.
