Genentech seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow (Computational) to drive rare coding variant association analyses in neurodegenerative diseases using whole-exome and whole-genome data. You will map hotspots with protein structure data and build calibrated models integrating molecular evidence.

Requirements include a PhD in a quantitative field, a strong publication record, and experience with large genomic datasets.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong publication record.
• Enjoy developing computational approaches to understand genetic variation in disease biology.
• Experience with large-scale genomic data (WES/WGS).
• Competence in R or Python for analyses.
• Able to present complex results to diverse audiences.
• Lead computational work in cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead computational analysis of large-scale whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing data.
• Develop methods that map variant hotspots using protein structure information.
• Collaborate with human genetics, computational biology, and neuroscience teams.
• Publish scientific or methodological papers regularly.
• Present results clearly to computational and non-computational audiences.
