Job summary

Prairie View A&M University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher – NRCS to lead and support environmental stressor mapping, develop stressor maps, and establish a field testbed on PVAMU Research farm. The role focuses on climate-smart production practices, outreach to farmers, and conducting flood, drought, and soil loss analyses at county and farm levels.

The position includes field and lab work, manuscript development, grant writing, and collaboration with researchers while mentoring

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in a relevant field emphasizing remote sensing, carbon dynamics, climate change eco-hydrology.
• Experience with hydrological/flood/crop modeling and GIS.
• Strong programming and quantitative analysis skills in R, Python, C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Lead USDA-NRCS funded project.
• Assist PI with research on hydrology, flood, drought, soil erosion and field experiments.
• Contribute to data downscaling and impacts of land use on eco-hydrologic processes.
• Assist in writing reports, manuscripts, and grants; present results at meetings.
