Job summary

Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) offers two postdoctoral fellowships in FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) in Silver Spring, MD. Fellows will investigate cell and gene therapy safety, assess CQAs, and develop methodologies to mitigate risks while preserving product performance.

Projects include Area 1: cell and gene therapy safety and Area 2: NAMs for safety/efficacy, using microfluidic and biomaterial platforms.

Qualifications

• PhD completed within the last 5 years in a relevant field.
• Experience in cell and gene therapy research is desirable.
• Strong written and oral communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on cell and gene therapy safety projects evaluating CQAs and safety-related endpoints.
• Develop and apply NAMs using in vitro models and analytical platforms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across immunology, toxicology, and bioengineering.
