Job description

Duties and Responsibilities: This position is funded by a newly awarded R01 grant from NIGMS of NIH. The postdoc will be primarily supervised by Dr. Yang Ni in the Department of Statistics. The primary responsibility of the postdoc is to develop new statistics/bioinformatics methods and pipelines for single-cell multi-omic data. The research projects will focus on (though not limited to) identifying cell types, gene regulatory networks, latent trajectories, and dependencies among cells and across single-cell modalities. The postdoc will have the opportunity to collaborate with biomedical scientists. The position is initially for one year and can be renewed for a second/third year, subject to satisfactory progress. Highly competitive salary and benefits are anticipated. The starting date is negotiable.

Position Qualifications: The candidate should be a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related quantitative field. The candidate should be familiar with one or more of the following fields: multi-omics, graphical models, data integration, and Bayesian statistics, and should have good programming skills. The candidate should also have good communication and writing skills.
