Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to lead studies on astrocyte roles in motor neuron pathology and neural progenitor disruption after cytomegalovirus infection. The lab uses patient-derived iPSCs, forebrain organoids, calcium imaging, and RNA sequencing, with opportunities for independent funding and presentations.

Qualifications

• Strong motivation, team player attitude, and strong ability to design, organize, and coordinate scientific research projects.
• Experience reading, understanding, and enforcing safety procedures.
• Experience with neuroscience, iPSC disease modeling, and molecular biology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, execute, and analyze complex iPSC-derived neural models.
• Perform calcium imaging on neurons and astrocytes.
• Bring new molecular and/or physiological methods to the laboratory.
• Develop creative methodologies for high-content imaging, cell surface proteomics, and RNA-seq analyses.
