Job summary

KQED seeks a seasoned Post Production Lead Engineer for its San Francisco facility. The role focuses on post production systems administration, operations, and media management within the Technical Operations division.

The position requires joining NABET Local 51 and working onsite. Ideal candidates bring deep knowledge of Avid MediaCentral/Interplay, Media Composer, Telestream Vantage, Diva, and MOS workflows, with strong IT and production skills across editing, directing, and live event

Qualifications

Five+ years of experience working with post production systems, media management and archive management.
Five+ years as a video editor.
Strong knowledge of Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro.
Extensive experience with server ingest and playout systems and associated equipment.
Familiarity with NRCS (iNews) and MOS workflows.
Experience configuring workflows and training others.

Responsibilities

Serve as system administrator and primary support engineer for post production systems (Avid, Adobe, Telestream Vantage, Diva, LTO).
Manage and create workflows, adapt to evolving needs and improve production value.
Document, communicate and teach workflows and best practices to editors and engineers.
Oversee installation and rollout of NLE plugins.
Collaborate with editorial and engineering teams.
Train colleagues on NRCS MOS workflows and overall operations.
Ensure output meets production standards and continuously improve processes.
