Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Current Maryland RN registration with the State Board of Examiners of Nurses.
• Healthcare Provider CPR biennial; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required for specialty areas.
• One year of RN experience required.
• Proficiency in developing nursing care plans, implementing care and evaluating outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong planning and organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient with computer programs.
• Demonstrates skill in patient experience and service recovery.

Responsibilities

• Assess database and formulate nursing diagnoses.
• Plan and update a written nursing care plan using scientific and psychosocial principles.
• Coordinate patient, family and health team in planning hospital and post-discharge care.
• Perform clinical nursing skills independently; administer medications and IV therapy.
• Initiate emergency procedures as necessary.
• Delegate and coordinate duties of ancillary personnel.
• Document and communicate patient status in the medical record; inform physicians and staff.
• Provide patient and family teaching and discharge planning.
• Participate in teaching, quality improvement and unit-based monitoring.
