Job summary

Essential Employment Services, Inc. is hiring for a Cannabis Post-Harvest Technician in Massachusetts to trim, dry, cure, and package cannabis flowers. You will work closely with the cultivation team to ensure seamless post-harvest transitions and adherence to regulatory standards.

The role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs, and ability to work well in a team while maintaining accurate records and sanitation across the trimming and packaging stations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Trim harvested cannabis plants by precisely removing fan leaves, sugar leaves, and excess water leaves while preserving the main colas.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the trimming room to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Dry and cure cannabis plants by hanging and monitoring drying rooms to achieve optimal moisture content and flavor profiles.
• Conduct quality control inspections to identify and remove any damaged or unhealthy cannabis plants.
• Collaborate with the cultivation team to optimize harvesting schedules and ensure a smooth transition from cultivation to post-harvest.
• Package the trimmed cannabis flower following company standards, ensuring proper labeling, sealing, and compliance with legal requirements.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Document and maintain accurate records of post-harvest activities for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Continuously stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to post-harvest activities in the cannabis industry.

What You'll Do!

• Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if relevant to job duties listed above.
• Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the workday.
• Must be capable of working in front of a computer for extended periods of time based on job duties listed above.
• Ability to safely use ladders and step stools to perform job duties.
