Job summary

Essential Employment Services Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Cannabis Post-Harvest Technician in Massachusetts to join our cultivation team. You will trim, dry, cure, and package cannabis flowers, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance throughout the process.

The role requires physical stamina, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Training on safety protocols and proper labeling will be provided to support consistent product integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and inventory.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve plant health issues effectively.
• Willingness to work in compliance with strict security and regulatory requirements.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Trim harvested cannabis plants by precisely removing fan leaves, sugar leaves, and excess water leaves while preserving the main colas.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the trimming room to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Dry and cure cannabis plants by efficiently hanging and monitoring drying rooms to achieve optimal moisture content and flavor profiles.
• Conduct quality control inspections to identify and remove any damaged or unhealthy cannabis plants.
• Collaborate with the cultivation team to optimize harvesting schedules and ensure a smooth transition from cultivation to post-harvest.
• Package the trimmed cannabis flower following company standards, ensuring proper labeling, sealing, and compliance with legal requirements.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Document and maintain accurate records of post-harvest activities for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Continuously stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to post-harvest activities in the cannabis industry.

What You’ll Do!

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including harvesting, drying, curing, trimming, and packaging cannabis flowers. Your keen understanding of cannabis anatomy and your ability to execute precise techniques will result in consistently high-quality products that meet our stringent standards. Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if relevant to job duties listed above.
• Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the workday.
• Must be capable of working in front of a computer for extended periods of time based on job duties listed above.
• Ability to safely use ladders and step stools to perform job duties.

Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
