We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Post-Harvest Technician to join our cannabis cultivation team. As a Post-Harvest Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and consistency of our cannabis products after harvest. You will be responsible for overseeing the drying, curing, trimming, and packaging processes while ensuring all products meet regulatory compliance and quality standards. This role requires a strong attention to detail, knowledge of post-harvest best practices, and a commitment to producing top-tier cannabis products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post-Harvest Processing:
- Manage the drying and curing processes to ensure cannabis flowers maintain optimal potency, aroma, and flavor
- Trim and prepare cannabis products for packaging, ensuring high-quality presentation and consistency across batches
- Operate and maintain trimming equipment and tools to maximize efficiency and quality
- Compliance & Quality Control:
- Ensure all post-harvest processes comply with state and federal cannabis regulations
- Track and document all activities related to post-harvest handling, including batch numbers, weight, and processing times
- Identify and address any issues related to mold, mildew, pests, or other product defects, ensuring only the best products are sent for sale
- Inventory Management:
- Assist with inventory management, ensuring products are labeled correctly and stored according to regulatory guidelines
- Keep accurate records of products processed, including batch tracking and compliance reports
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the cultivation, processing, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth transitions from harvest to final product
- Contribute to maintaining an organized and clean work environment in line with health and safety regulations
- Customer Education & Feedback:
- Assist in providing feedback to cultivation teams regarding product quality to improve future harvests
- Ensure that all cannabis products meet the high standards our customers expect
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Prior experience in post-harvest processing, cannabis cultivation, or a similar horticultural environment (preferred 1+ year)
- Experience in trimming, curing, and packaging cannabis is highly preferred
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of post-harvest techniques, including drying, curing, trimming, and packaging processes
- Familiarity with cannabis regulations and the importance of compliance during post-harvest operations
- Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in handling cannabis products
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move products around the post-harvest area
- Prolonged exposure to various temperatures and humidity levels typical of the drying and curing areas
- Licensing/Certification:
- Must be willing to undergo background checks
Working Conditions:
- Hours: May include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on production schedules
- Environment: Fast-paced, requiring the ability to work efficiently and safely in a team environment
- Safety Standards: Regular cleaning and maintenance of the post-harvest area to ensure a safe, hygienic, and productive workspace
