Job summary

TerrAscend Corp. in New Jersey is seeking a Flower Packaging Post-Harvest Lead to oversee the post-harvest team, ensure packaging aligns with state regulations, and maintain quality and safety standards.

You will manage daily workflows, coordinate with production, train staff, and help improve TerrAscend processes while upholding health, safety, and traceability requirements across facilities.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the daily production schedule to hit efficiency goals.
• Verify all areas, tools, and equipment are ready before each shift or batch.
• Clean and sanitize glassware, transfer materials, storage vessels, tools and surfaces.
• Produce reliable data for batch, equipment, quality, inventory and seed-to-sale records.
• Accurately fill out all logs and tracking records.
• Ensure packaging processes meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Assist in management of team members, shift opening/closing, and vault returns.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of TerrAscend processes.
• Maintain a safe and orderly workspace and personal safety.

Position Description: The Flower Packaging Post-Harvest Lead will be responsible for leading the different areas of the Post-Harvest department, overseeing the employees of the department, and making sure product is packaged according to state and company regulations.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

• Adhere to the daily production schedule to ensure attainment of efficiency goals.
• Verify that all applicable working areas, tools, and processing equipment are maintained and in good working order prior to the start of each shift or batch
• Clean and sanitize glassware, transfer materials, storage vessels, tools and working surfaces
• Produce reliable and precise data for completion of all required batch, equipment, quality, inventory and state mandated seed to sale documentation
• Accurately fill out all associated logs and tracking records.
• Ensure all packaging processes are performed with attention to strict quality and safety standards, regulatory compliance and all other applicable legal and food safety requirements
• In addition to helping out on the floor, leads are responsible for assisting in the management of their team members throughout their shift, preparing and closing down the room at the beginning and end of the day, returning finished and in process work to the secure vault, and keeping equipment in good working condition
• Contribute to continuous improvement of TerrAscend processes.
• Ensure the safety of themselves and other by maintaining a safe and orderly workspace
• Other duties in Post Harvest department or other departments as required

Working Conditions

This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.

Physical Requirements

• This position may require the ability to perform essential functions that include, but are not limited to: Pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time. Using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel, and pick objects (manual dexterity).
• Working with chemicals (e.g., butane, propane, bleach) while following strict safety guidelines.
• Cleaning and maintaining the facility or equipment using approved chemicals.
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including clothing protection, close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear and eye protection.
